Why build a face shape analyzer?
Choosing a haircut or a new pair of glasses sounds simple until the advice starts with “know your face shape.” The next question is often harder: what if two tools give different labels, or a chart seems to describe more than one part of your face? A label on its own does not explain what to try next.
This is not just a hypothetical problem. In a public discussion about conflicting face-shape results, someone looking for haircut and makeup advice described receiving several different labels from apps. That is one person’s experience, not a survey or evidence about how often every tool gets it wrong. It illustrates the confusion this project is designed to address.
My approach: show the reasoning, not just a label
I built Face Analysis Suite to make face-shape exploration easier to understand. The photo analyzer shows the outline and relative measurements behind its suggested profile. When profiles are close, you can consider nearby alternatives instead of treating the first label as a permanent identity.
You do not have to use a photograph. The manual face shape calculator lets you compare your own measurements, while the guided quiz uses your observations. Those options also help when a camera is unavailable or an image is difficult to analyze.
What you can use it for
- Prepare for a haircut: explore silhouette and length ideas, then discuss hair texture, density and upkeep with your stylist.
- Shortlist glasses: compare frame shapes before checking bridge fit, temple comfort and cheek clearance in person.
- Explore beard or makeup placement: use illustrated suggestions as experiments, not rules about what needs correcting.
- Understand a surprising result: compare proportions, check the photo setup and read why two categories can overlap.
Start with the seven face shape guides, hairstyle guide, or glasses fit guide.
Privacy is part of the design
Photo analysis runs in your browser. This application does not send your chosen image or facial measurements to an analysis server, and it does not require an account. You can reset the photo and try again. The privacy policy explains local processing, camera permission and the ordinary requests needed to load the website.
Who creates and maintains the guides?
I am the creator and maintainer of this site. The guides are published by Face Analysis Suite using AI-assisted drafting and software-based checks against the tool’s implementation. They are not presented as independently reviewed clinical research or advice from a qualified stylist. The face and style portraits are fictional AI-generated illustrations, not customer photographs or proof of classification accuracy.
Technical explanations link to the relevant sources where useful. Styling suggestions explain a possible visual effect and leave room for your preferences. Established article addresses are retained when content is revised, and meaningful changes receive an updated date. No advertiser controls the current result recommendations.
What this tool cannot promise
My background is software engineering, not clinical diagnosis or professional styling. Face-shape categories overlap, and photographs change how proportions appear. The classifier has not been independently validated on a representative dataset. It is not scientifically perfect, a beauty score, or an identity check. Read how the analyzer works and its accuracy limitations before relying on a result.
